ABOUT

About the Department

The Department of Chemistry was established in the academic year 2003–2004 with a commitment to academic excellence and quality education. The department offers both Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes, providing students with a strong foundation in chemical sciences. It is supported by well-equipped laboratories and guided by highly qualified and experienced faculty members who are dedicated to innovative and student-centric teaching practices.

The department effectively integrates ICT tools to enhance lecture delivery and provides comprehensive study materials for students’ reference across all subjects. During regular practical sessions, students receive hands-on training on various analytical instruments, enabling them to strengthen their practical competencies and prepare for careers in the chemical industry.

To bridge the gap between academics and industry, the department regularly organises workshops, seminars, expert talks, academic events, and industrial visits, ensuring students remain connected with current advancements in the professional world. Additionally, the department conducts specialized HPTLC workshops in collaboration with Anchrom Lab, Mulund, focusing on advanced instrument handling skills for postgraduate students.
