About Us

Established in 2001, the Department of Information Technology has been a cornerstone of our institution’s commitment to academic excellence. The introduction of the M.Sc. IT program in 2007 and the Computer Science program in 2011 further strengthened this vision. With a mission to equip students with advanced skills to thrive in the ever-evolving technological landscape, the department has grown into a vibrant center of innovation and learning.

What began with just 18 students in IT has expanded to 180 today. Similarly, Computer Science has grown from 30 to 60 students, and M.Sc. IT from 10 to 40 students. This remarkable growth reflects the department’s strong academic framework, quality education, and supportive learning environment.

The department emphasises holistic education through a comprehensive curriculum that includes emerging domains such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Cloud Computing, and other cutting-edge technologies. Guided by experienced and dedicated faculty members, students receive both theoretical knowledge and practical exposure.

Our alumni have successfully established careers at reputable organisations such as Wipro, L&T Infotech, Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, and Accenture, demonstrating the department’s strong industry impact.

Beyond academics, the department actively enhances students’ competencies by offering free online certification courses in collaboration with renowned platforms and organisations, including IIT Bombay Spoken Tutorial, Infosys Springboard, ExcelR, and Aspire For Her.

Additionally, regular workshops, seminars, and placement training programs are conducted to bridge the gap between academics and industry. These initiatives provide hands-on experience and career readiness, ensuring students are well-prepared to excel in the dynamic field of Information Technology.
